SALAD DAYS MAGAZINE - ISSUE 5 - FREE PRESS
Justin Bartlett’s detailed pen and ink drawings draw from nature and imagery related to the occult resulting in works that show an analytical eye that pushes the iconography he uses to the limit. The seemingly innocent drawing of a cat shows a struggling bird trapped beneath its paw. The cat’s expression is maniacal and deranged. Other works draw on Bartlett’s rich visual language of dark chasms, piles of skulls and heads floating in rancid pools engulfed in a mass of knotted weeds and roots. The resulting hellish images, while referencing nature seem to come from a much darker internal void. Justin will be showing new original drawings.

We are finally ready and proud to be part of what we could call one of the best hardcore show in 2010: Circle Fest 2010. We are all great fans of both Carpathian and Ruiner so sharing the stage with them would be really really inspiring for us, thats for sure. During our set we are gonna play songs from "Human Disintegration" together with the old stuff and a brand new one and sure it's gonna be our most intense and face-melting gig ever.

After a year spent sharing euro stages with some of the most active hardcore and punk bands around, Rise Above Dead are now ready to unleash "Human Disintegration", their first official ep recorded in April 2010 and only available on a 12"vinyl format.
The 4 new songs in "Human Disintegration" represent Rise Above Dead's typical darkened blend of post hardcore, crust and sludge metal. Heavy guitars and haunting vocals make the record sound like an electric funeral pyre.
The music is complimented by the visual darkness captured on a superlative artwork done by Justin Bartlett (Sunn O))), Trap Them, Creature Skateboards)
"Human Disintegration" is currently available through the Rise Above Dead online store.
We spent last weekend locked in the studio recording our first ep. Once the final master is ready (hopefully in a day or two) we're gonna send everything out to the factory and get it printed on 7" vinyl, which is gonna be the only format available for this release.
We also added a few more shows on our Myspace page so go check them out! Now we are looking forward to confirm more shows in Europe soon.
